Winter holidays in Valle Aurina with skiing and winter fun

A winter in the mountains

A day skiing on Plan de Corones, cross-country skiing on freshly prepared trails or a toboggan run followed by a cosy stop at a mountain hut: winter in the Val Pusteria is filled with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The slopes of Plan de Corones and the impressive mountain scenery of Valle Aurina are only a short drive away.

Winter fun on the slopes

Plan de Corones is one of the best-known ski resorts in South Tyrol and can be reached from Hotel Innerhofer within just a few minutes. More than 100 kilometres of slopes, modern lift facilities and breathtaking panoramic views make every ski day here on Plan de Corones truly special experience.
The ski bus conveniently takes you directly from the village to the ski area. The Speikboden and Klausberg ski areas in Skiworld Ahrntal can also be reached quickly – ideal for anyone who enjoys a little variety during their winter holiday.

Tobogganing fun in nature

For many guests, tobogganing is simply part of a perfect winter holiday. In Valle Aurina, numerous natural toboggan runs await, ideal for outings with family or friends.
The route usually begins with a relaxed walk uphill – and at the top, there is often a welcoming mountain hut waiting with a well-earned reward: a warm parlour, South Tyrolean specialities and a hot tea or mulled wine before speeding back down into the valley by sledge.
Many runs are open during the day, while some are even illuminated in the evening – creating a wonderfully atmospheric ride through the snowy landscape.

Winter tours through the mountains

Those who prefer experiencing the winter mountains at a quieter pace will find endless possibilities here. Winter hiking trails, snowshoe hikes and ski touring routes lead through snow-covered forests, across peaceful alpine meadows and up to panoramic summits.
Valle Aurina is considered one of the most beautiful areas for ski touring in South Tyrol. Here, countless routes await – from gentle tours to more demanding summit adventures.
The hosts are always happy to share personal recommendations for tours in the surrounding area. Agnes herself is a passionate ski tourer and knows many of the region’s most beautiful routes from personal experience. As part of the KronAktiv programme, guided snowshoe hikes are also offered several times a week.
