Bikehotel in Val Pusteria for your, mtb, e-bike & gravel bike holiday

Cycling holidays at Hotel Innerhofer

Sunny. Flowing. Indulgent.

Cycling is simply part of life here. For decades, we have been exploring new routes from the saddle ourselves and sharing our favourite tours with guests.
When Agnes and Edith transformed their family home into a mountain bike hotel in 1999, much of it was still pioneering work. Today, the next generation is already actively involved and has inherited the same passion for cycling.

A bike hotel built on passion

Our love of cycling began with a red “Cristallo” mountain bike hardtail from 1989, built by the cult bike manufacturer Troger. Ten years later, Agnes and her twin sister Edith opened one of the region’s very first mountain bike hotels.
A lot has changed in the world of cycling since then – but our enthusiasm for life on two wheels has remained exactly the same. We are still out on the trails ourselves, discovering new routes and sharing our favourite tours with guests.

We are the perfect choice for:
  • Sporty riders who love varied tours, flowing single trails and sociable days on the bike
  • Ambitious cyclists who enjoy guided tours or discovering new routes independently with GPS tracks
  • Leisure cyclists who want to combine movement, nature and South Tyrolean mountain huts
  • Active holidaymakers looking to combine sporty days outdoors with relaxing hours at the hotel
  • Families who enjoy cycling together or spending a day in the bike park
  • Gravel, trekking and road cyclists wanting to explore the Plan de Corones Dolomites region on two wheels
  • Lady bikers who value personal guidance and tours tailored to their needs
  • Cyclists with or without a motor – from classic mountain bikes to modern e-bikes

In short: for everyone who appreciates good weather, varied tours and the relaxed atmosphere of a genuine bike hotel in South Tyrol.

Biking bliss

„For me, a cosy mountain hut stop is just as much a part of biking as the trail itself – especially if there’s Kaiserschmarrn involve.“
Albert, inventor of Bike-Safe and bike guide

Our bike guides

Our certified guides are locals and have been exploring the region with guests for many years. They show you the little details along the way: the best mountain hut stop, the quietest viewpoint or the perfect trail to end an unforgettable biking day. We plan our tours flexibly – depending on the weather, ability level and the wishes of our guests.

Agnes, host and bike guide since 2004, joins tours herself whenever possible and knows countless routes between the Plan de Corones Dolomites region and Valle Aurina thanks to years of scouting and experience.

Carmen, host and chef, inherited her love for mountain biking and gravel biking from her mother and will also become part of the hotel’s guide team from summer 2026 onwards. She accompanies the culinary bike tour.

Lukas is our specialist for technical highlight tours and riding technique. Those who ride with him often discover more remote routes and untouched trails away from the well-known paths. Sustainable biking and a respectful approach to nature and the landscape are especially important to him.

Albert is our all-rounder! Whether with or without a motor, what matters most to him are beautiful panoramas, enjoyable riding without stress and a great stop for refreshments along the way.

Manfred, Agnes’s husband, likes to balance his work as a financial and tax consultant by spending time on his mountain bike or road bike. In his free time, he enjoys accompanying our guests on weekend and highlight tours.

Reaching the destination together – everyone at their own pace

“Because we ride in two different groups, everyone can find their own rhythm – and in the end, we still meet together at the mountain hut.“

Our biking region

around Plan de Corones and Valle Aurina

Our biking region is still a genuine insider tip: never overcrowded, yet incredibly diverse. Tours lead across alpine pastures, old smuggler’s trails, mountain passes and panoramic routes through the mountains between the Alpine ridge and the Dolomites.
Whether on the Val Pusteria cycle path, forest tracks, flowing trails or romantic mountain roads – everyone will find the perfect tour here. The Plan de Corones Bike Park is also just nearby. By the way: many tours can easily be shortened or extended, allowing everyone to find the route that suits them best.

Tour & Trail

Mountain biking, e-mountain biking & enduro

Tours & Trail is the heart of our bike hotel concept. By mountain bike or e-mountain bike, our tours take you to the region’s most beautiful alpine huts, panoramic spots and trails.

Your day on two wheels: how our tours work

For us, the journey itself is the destination. Every day, we plan our guided tours (subject to charge) individually – adapted to the weather, the group’s riding ability and the overall mood of the day.

  • Two groups, one destination: we usually start directly from the hotel between 9:00 and 9:30 am in two different performance groups. This allows everyone to ride at their ideal pace.
  • Enjoyment brings people together: the highlight of the day? At lunchtime, both groups meet at an alpine hut or mountain inn to enjoy good food together and share the day’s experiences.
  • Creating memories: we always take our time! Short breaks to catch your breath and photo stops for the perfect holiday picture are naturally part of the experience.

Mountain biking

– where our roots began

Our story as a bike hotel began with mountain biking. For many years, we ourselves have been exploring the trails and know the region between the Dolomites, Plan de Corones and Valle Aurina inside out.

Starting right from the hotel, you can set off on alpine pasture and hut tours, panoramic mountain routes and trails that can all be flexibly combined. We are happy to give you the right recommendations – tailored to your preferences and riding ability.

Mountain bike tours

Tour tips for every level: whether you want to explore the valley along relaxed routes or take on alpine challenges – our guides provide useful advice and make sure you are always riding safely.

The adventure begins right outside the door

“Between the Alpine ridge and the Dolomites lies an incredibly varied biking region – and the best tours begin directly outside our front door.”
Agnes, host & bike guide

Gravel biking

With a huge variety of routes ranging from relaxed scenic rides to demanding alpine adventures, the region offers everything a gravel biker could wish for. Gravel riding: speed, nostalgia, freedom

“Gravel riding combines the speed of a road bike with the spirit of 90s hardtails. I absolutely love this pure feeling of freedom!”
Agnes, host & gravel enthusiast

Road cycling

– exploring the Dolomite passes

Gais lies at 840 metres above sea level and is an ideal starting point for road cycling tours. Quiet side roads, valley cycle paths and winding mountain passes lead in every direction – all the way into the Dolomites. Some routes are even part of the TOUR Transalp or the Giro d’Italia. Although we do not offer guided road bike tours, our guests still benefit from many bike-friendly services:

Bike, e-bike & family

Relaxed adventures on 2 wheels

With an e-bike, city bike or trekking bike, you can explore the area around our village of Gais at a wonderfully relaxed pace – alone, as a couple or with the whole family. Many routes run away from busy roads and are perfect for leisurely rides suitable for both adults and children – with plenty of time for breaks and little discoveries along the way.

The routes lead to lakes, waterfalls, playgrounds and many beautiful excursion destinations. Thanks to KRON AKTIV and the Outdoor Center Kronplatz, guests can also take part in a varied outdoor programme – including activities designed especially for children.

Bike & train

One particularly practical combination is bike & train: many starting points can easily be reached by rail, allowing you to discover entirely new valleys.
With the guest pass, all public transport throughout South Tyrol can be used free of charge! Bicycles can only be transported on trains, however. A separate daily bike ticket is required for this.

To be honest

“With children, it’s often worth covering part of the route by train – that way, there’s more energy left for adventures along the way.”
Albert, inventor of Bike-Safe and bike guide

Rentals

If you do not wish to bring your own bike, you can easily hire one and have it delivered directly to the hotel. For bike hire or servicing, we recommend booking an appointment in advance with our partner Bikeshop & Cube Store FORBIKER – especially during the high season. Our guests receive priority service there.
Downhill, enduro and gravity bikes including equipment are available from the Outdoor Center Kronplatz in Riscone.
