Summer holidays in Valle Aurina with hiking and biking

A summer between mountains and lakes

In summer, life in the Val Pusteria naturally takes place outdoors. Hiking trails, mountain pastures and huts and swimming lakes are only minutes away, while countless tours on foot or by bike begin directly outside the hotel.

Step by step towards the mountains

Hiking around Gais

Between the Dolomites to the south and the three-thousand-metre peaks of Valle Aurina to the north, endless hiking opportunities unfold. Some paths lead gently to alpine huts, while others continue higher into the dramatic alpine mountain world.
Many tours begin directly at the hotel or can be reached within a short time. And of course, a cosy stop at a mountain hut is simply part of the experience before heading back down into the valley.

Summer, sunshine and swimming fun

After a hike or bike tour, a refreshing dip in cool water feels especially rewarding. Just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel lies the Baggalocke in Gais, a small natural swimming lake with a sunbathing lawn – perfect for a spontaneous cool-down on warm summer days.
The outdoor pool in Brunico and the large Cron4 water world in Riscone can also be reached within just a few minutes by car. By the way: admission is free for our guests.

To be honest
Out in nature, completely at ease …

“What I love most about summer here? The endless greenery and the countless ways to spend time outdoors. A hike through the high moorlands, a leisurely stop at a mountain hut or a mild summer evening on our terrace in good company.
And sometimes it’s the simplest moments that stay with you most: a refreshing swim in the Baggalocke early in the morning, when the water is still perfectly calm and you almost have the lake to yourself.“
